Blessed with the beauty of nature, this place is among the favorite tourist spots of the Indian citizens, especially during summer season. The picturesque hill stations of this region even include the famous trekking routes of Beas Kund and Chandrakhani Pass. Tourist Attractions in Manali
Being a popular hill station of north India, this city has got a number of places of visit. Following are some of the famous and most visited tourist places in and around Manali:
- Beas Kund: This temple is the place of origination of the Beas River and the shape of it resembles an igloo.
- Fun Park: This is a kind of amusement park that is based near the Hidimba Temple.
- Gauri Shankar Temple: Located at the village of Dashal, this temple dates back to the 12th Century. The surrounding of this temple is featured with apple orchards as well as water stream.
- Hidimba Temple: Devoted to Hidimbi Devi of the Mahabharata, the great Indian epic, this is an age old cave temple. A big rock coming out of the basement of that temple is worshiped as the deity.
- Maa Sharvari Temple: Based at a nearby distance of around 5 km from the city, this temple houses the image of the Kullu kings' Kuldevi that is a manifestation of Goddess Durga.
- Rahala Waterfalls: Positioned at 2, 501 m altitude, this beautiful waterfall is situated at an approximate distance of 16 km from the city of Manali.
- Rohtang Pass: Situated at the height of 3, 979 m from the level of the sea, this is a site of adventure tourism. Being the highest peak of the Manali - Keylong Road, it remains cold and covered with snow throughout the year.
- Rozy Waterfalls: Cascading from in between the hills, this waterfall located on the route to Rohtang Pass is amazing and worth seeing.
- Solang Valley: Even called "Snow Point", this place is known for the 3, 00 m ski lift. Apart from that, this picturesque spot offers splendid sights of snow capped mountains and glaciers.
- Vashist: This is a small village, which is just 3 km away from Manali. This village is famous for being the location of some old rock cut temples as well as the natural water springs. Modernised bathhouses featuring Turkish styled showers have been built there so that the visitors do not experience any inconvenience while taking a bath in the sulphur springs.
